Whereas: H.R. 1, the misnamed “For The People Act” would have a chilling effect on American’s political free speech; and
Whereas: Forcing organizations like Students for Life Action to disclose the personal information of their supporters would leave them open to targeted harassment at the hands of extremists; and
Whereas: The U.S. Constitution gives the power to the states to manage elections, not the federal government because it would give Washington, D.C. too much power; and
Whereas: Overriding state voter ID laws and forcing states to expand vote-by-mail would undermine the integrity of our election process making many Americans less likely to trust the results;
Therefore: As your constituent, I urge you to vote “NO!” on H.R. 1, the so-called “For The People Act.”
