PETITION TO STOP HB1031
MARYLAND 2019

We, the undersigned, urge our representatives to vote NO on HB1031. Abortion is not a human right and has no place in Maryland’s constitution. The preborn are distinct, living, whole human beings with an equal right to life, who should be protected by Maryland law rather than protecting the right of others to kill them.

This legislation is terribly constructed, ambiguous, and not worth the resources that would be spent, nor does Maryland need any further division on this issue of abortion. The majority of Americans agree with limits on abortion, and HB1031 is not a true representation of voters in Maryland.

HB1031 will cripple future efforts to bring justice for the preborn. Therefore, we reject it and call upon our legislators to instead declare that the preborn have an equal right to life under the law and pass legislation making abortion illegal in Maryland.
