Whereas: Virginia became the 38th state to ratify the so-called “Equal Rights Amendment” (ERA); and
Whereas: The deadline to ratify the ERA has long expired; and
Whereas: The Abortion Lobby plans to use the ERA to enshrine abortion into the Constitution; and
Whereas: NARAL states the “ERA would reinforce the constitutional right to abortion by clarifying that the sexes have equal rights, which would require judges to strike down anti-abortion laws because they violate both the constitutional right to privacy and sexual equality”; and
Whereas: The House of Representatives plan to ignore the ratification deadline and force the ERA into the Constitution by removing the deadline requirement;
Therefore: I sign my STAND AGAINST THE ERA Petition to demand my U.S. Representative to VOTE AGAINST any attempt to remove the ERA’s ratification deadline.
