Florida MED Act Petition

Support Conscience Rights

Students for Life has partnered with Sen. Dennis Baxley in support of SB 1986, the Florida MED Act, to protect the conscience rights of medical professionals in Florida. We’re activating students and supporters of the preborn across Florida to pass it, so please sign your petition to add it to the tidal wave hitting the legislature.

To: the Senate Health and Policy and Judiciary Committee, and my state legislators

WHEREAS: Abortion is the purposeful ending of a human life, it is NOT healthcare.

WHEREAS: The Hippocratic Oath states first, “do no harm.” Patients are best served by doctors, nurses and other medical professionals who are free to act ethically and consistently with that oath.

WHEREAS: Medical students must have their conscience rights protected, lest they be dissuaded from going into specialties that treat pregnant women, resulting in fewer pro-life doctors when women need them most.

WHEREAS: Medical personnel who recognize the humanity of the preborn should not be discriminated against, compelled to violate their consciences, or forced to leave their profession to maintain their moral values.

THEREFORE: I urge you to support the MED Act by holding a hearing and casting every vote in favor of Sen. Baxley’s SB 1986 as written.
