Charlie Kirk Free Speech Act Petition

Whereas: Charlie Kirk was a nationally known speaker, author, radio talk show host, political activist, husband, and father; and

Whereas: Charlie Kirk was assassinated on September 10th, 2025, while speaking at a university on one of his many campus visits in which he encouraged students who had accepted his invitation to challenge his views on political and cultural issues; and

Whereas: In his advocacy for free speech, Charlie Kirk ensured that dissenting voices, especially those of the next generation, would be able to flourish in the public square; and

Whereas: A holiday would serve not only as a tribute to Charlie’s life and work, but as a call for people to seek out peaceful, productive dialogue with those of differing beliefs.

Therefore: The United States Congress should pass the Charlie Kirk Free Speech Day Act and establish October 14th as a national holiday honoring free speech.
