Whereas: In some cases, these secret school abortions have been carried out at taxpayer expense, forcing families to fund practices they morally oppose; and
Whereas: A recent study conducted by the Ethics and Public Policy Center revealed that “serious adverse events following Chemical Abortions is at least 22 times higher than previous estimates;” and
Whereas: “1 in 9 of women [who] experience sepsis, infection, hemorrhaging, or another serious adverse event within 45 days following a Chemical Abortion;” and
Whereas: No-test, online distribution of these drugs exposes women to severe medical risks including injury, infertility, and death – particularly among the 15% of women who are Rh-negative (according to medical literature); and
Whereas: Chemical Abortion Pills are a favorite tool of abusers who are looking to cover up their crimes; and
Whereas: Chemically tainted medical waste are flushed into our waterways, polluting our drinking water as wastewater treatment plants don’t treat for human remains or traces of Chemical Abortion Pills;
Therefore: We, the undersigned, petition pharmacy professionals, business owners, and managers to:
1. DECLINE to “Opt-In” to the distribution of Chemical Abortion Pills;
2. FOCUS on pharmaceutical services that extend life rather than end life; and
3. PROTECT both patients and pharmacy staff from the medical, legal, and ethical risks associated with Chemical Abortion Pill distribution.
